The Spanish office of th European Parliament and the Spanish representation of the European Commission, with the collaboration of IMSERSO, have launched a Photography contest related to the European Year 2012 (active ageing and solidarity between generations) and the celebration on December 3 of the European Day of handicapped people 2012.

Pictures must show older people that, due to their age, have a disability or handicapped older people doing a creative activity, positive, socially productive or promoting active and independent lifes.

Photos have to go with a headline and a short explicative text about the person in the picture. Photographies must show the positive aspects of active ageing, the importance of participaing in the society or the social support received by older people..

Pictures have to be sent before October 31, not heavier than 1mb, to: EPMadrid@ep.europa.eu

The author and the person in the picture of the three selected photos will win a digital camera in an event which will be held in Madrid on December 3 because of the celebration of the European Day of handicapped people 2012.

30 pictures preselected, included the three winners photos, will be exhibited in the Spanish office of both the European Parliament and the European Commission (Paseo de la Castellana 46, Madrid) during December. In addition, a book will be edited with all of them.
